How did I get
here?

"I spent 15 years in the Navy interacting with all different kinds of people both in the States and around the world.  I was training to be a therapist and didn’t even know it!  When I left the Navy, I took a good hard look at myself and began to fine-tune what my strengths were. I had no background in counseling or therapy and yet I felt called to it."

Why do I do what
I do?

"I do what I do because helping people through transitional, difficult, or confusing times in their lives makes me feel fulfilled. The therapy process resonates with me; honesty, vulnerability, goal setting, & change are all things that transpire in therapy. I love seeing the impact therapy makes in people’s relationship with themselves & others and the way their quality of life improves when they have the right tools."

Who am I outside the
office?

"I’m a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, & friend.  Those roles are so important to me & bring me enormous joy. I am a life-long learner, I read professional journals, attend seminars, & I take the occasional class either online or in a traditional classroom. I am originally from Massachusetts, & while I’ve lived in Virginia Beach for 20 years, I still love when the weather cools off.  That's when you’re most likely to find me outside hiking & just enjoying nature."
