How did I get
here?
"I do what I do because it is the least I can do. To offer kindness, empathy, and assistance to others in need is my honor and privilege. I have spent my life trying to reduce the suffering of others in various ways, and feel these efforts have led me to where I am today. My empathy is genuine, my care is authentic, and my belief in your ability to thrive is steadfast."
Why do I do what
I do?
"The path has been winding. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology in 2007 and joined the Army shortly after. One month into my master’s degree program, I was deployed. After that experience, I returned to school to earn my Paramedic certification. Once children entered my world, I again returned to school to restart my interrupted master’s. After completing that degree, I (surprise!) attended Regent University to earn my second master’s as well as my doctorate in clinical psychology. I have lived in many diverse areas in the country, and am happy to have landed back in Virginia. The years between my undergraduate degree and my doctorate were filled with challenging and enriching life lessons that have only strengthened my resolve on this path to effectively help others."
Who am I outside the
office?
"I am essentially the same person outside of the office, only in sweatpants. I have three beautiful children and a wonderful husband. We have an anxiously-attached dog named Molly. Aside from that, I enjoy lifting heavy things and putting them back down, art, reading, music, being out in nature, and naps."
